Unit 4 of Book 3
Teaching objective:
Let the pupils get more familiar with the words about animals and the places they live, can use “ can” and “ can’t” freely.
Teaching Difficult Points:
To use can and can’t freely
can use simple present tense and can answer the simple question correctly
Teaching Procedures:
I warm up
1,Sing a song: the bears go marching
2, show pictures of animal homes , let students come to the board to write down their names.
3, check their answer , then show animal cards to students , if one read correctly, hand the card to him or her, then let the students come to the board to put the animals in their right homes.
II. Presentation
1,Show PPT which have many different animals in it, ask one question, eg, what can these animals do ? ( students might find the common in the picture, they might say , they all can fly)
Lead-in several words like: jump, climb, swim, walk,run,
2 after talk over about what can these animals do , turn to talk about students themselves, ask them what can they do ? and they might say they can sing, dance, jump, write, read,march, tie the shoes….then list all that they learned before about the action word. If possible, let them do the action.
3, give each student a piece of paper, let them do some exercises at once.

Reflection:
The content of this lesson maybe a little bit easier for the students, maybe I should say it is a little bit easier for majority students, my aim is to review the animals they learned and also make sure they know the animals’ homes and then how to use “ can” and “can’t” correctly. And how to raise and answer question about where do the animals live and what can they do and can’t they do.
After class, I found that the advanced students seems learned less new, so I think I should focused on how to make every single class effectively for everyone, I will try my best and also I will learn from other English teachers, esp .learn from Miss Xiang, so for me , it’s a long way to become better and best.
