Review of Units 1-6

Goals: to revise some key words in these six units;

to revise the target languages by doing some listening comprehension.

Key points: listening comprehension

Difficult points:to understand each whole conversation.

Procedures:

Step1 Crossword

Call attention to the exercises for crossword, read the instructions and ask the students to read the clues and complete the crossword. Let them to do it individually for several minutes, then get one volunteer to write the answers on the board. After that, go through the clues one by one and check the answers, make sure they can understand each sentence for the clue and get the right word. Meanwhile deal with some key words and phrases, such as wheel, cheese, begin with, the opposite of and so on.

Step 2 Warm up

Show the four pictures one by one, lead the students to say something about each picture. Make sure they know what they are going to do next.

Step 3 Extensive listening

Read the instructions in3a, make sure the students are ready for listening. Play the tape, let them to listen to all the four conversations together and match the conversations with the correct pictures. Check the answer after each conversation.

Step 4 Intensive Listening

Present the instructions next to the pictures on the board, play the tape, let

them to listen to the conversations one by one, and invite a student do it on the board. Then show the tape script and let the students listen for a third time, catch the key points and at the same time, check the answers to the instructions on the board. Deal with some difficult points while fill in the blanks for the tape script. Make sure they understand each conversation clearly.

Step 5 Pairwork

Show the listening script conversations, ask students to read in pairs, then invite some volunteer pairs to role play each conversation. Make sure they remember the target languages learned in the last few units.

Step 6 Homework

Finish reading the article on Page40, write sentences comparing those kinds of transportation, using the information from the passage.
