Teaching Procedures:

I. Lead-in

Today is a very important Western Festival, Thanksgiving Day, What do people usually do on Thanksgiving Day? Who would you like to say thank you to? Why? How to take care of the person you love?

II. Review

Review the weather words by picture.

sunny(warm, hot, dry), cloudy(cool), rainy(cold, wet), windy(cold), snowy(cold, wet,)

III. Quick Dictation

Show the students a form, there are 3 groups of 6 blanks. Ask the students to do quick Dictation. Before the students do it, tell the students the words are all about weather on the Bb. Then tell them some skills of taking notes quickly, such as draw a picture and only write down one or two letters.

IV. Activity 7

Extensive listening

1.Before listening, tell the students some skills: What day is today? Ask the students do you need the word bank?

2. Listen for the first time, ask the students to try to fill in the blanks. Then check the answers.

3. Listen for the second time, give them some stops if the students need, especially at the answers.

1. Listen for the 3^rdtime, ask the students to fill in the blanks. Do this as a boys and girls competition.

2. Listen for the 4^thtime, ask the students to fill in the more blanks. Do this as boys and girls competition.

3. Ask the students some questions:

1). What is the ad for the Uncle Gabby’s Camping Store?

2). What are the advice from the reporter?
