Teaching Procedures:

I. Warm up

1. Greetings

2. Ask students to look at the screen. There are four letters, but it is not a right word. Ask students to find out the right one. (Help)

If you see an old man fall down on the street, what will you do? Why?

T: I am happy to see that most of you choose to help the old man. Although there are reports of those who help others get a blackmail, such things are rare. As a student, we shouldn’t become cold or turn a blind eye to that.. However, we should pay attention to the ways of helping others.

在二十一世纪经济不断发展的今天，我们的社会拥有了高度的物质文明，但一些现象也常令我们不安：尊老爱幼、互帮互助一直是我们中华民族的传统美德，但继南京"彭宇案"后,又现"天津车主搀扶跌倒老人被判赔10万"的事例,全国各地似乎都有这样的事情发生。一时间,关于"跌倒老人扶不扶"的言论充斥了整个网络,不少人哀叹人心不古,不少人直接表态"永远不会扶",也有不少人担心中国公民的道德水准会因此倒退几十年!作为处于这种环境中的教师来说，我们应该思考这样一个问题：“我们的学生还缺什么？”不错，答案就是他们缺的是与高度物质文明相匹配的高度精神文明。针对这样一种现象，为了能给学生有一个正确的道德价值观引导，本节课选择了初二下英语课本第一单元作为教学材料。

本堂课首先让学生看四个英语字母让学生找出正确的单词，Help，帮助。由此提问学生“请问你经常帮助别人吗？”“你帮助别人做过些什么？”学生们分享了自己帮助他人的故事后，接着呈现一张图片，让学生根据图片编一个故事，每位同学这个时候都可以充分利用自己的想象把自己所想的故事说出来，那么同学们的故事是不是和我们课本中的故事一样呢？这篇文章到底讲了一个怎样的故事呢？让学生带着自己的故事来阅读文章，阅读完后先独立完成一部分练习，通过小组讨论让学生核对练习答案并解决文中中的疑难，老师做相应指导，然后通过再读再练让学生充分感知。最后根据文中一位乘客的话语当今社会很多人不会帮助别人原因是不想惹麻烦作为切入点，让学生讨论自己对这样一种社会现象的看法。学生们各自表达不同的观点最后由老师点拨，虽然社会上有这样的个案，但是作为我们学生不应该因此就变得冷漠，我们应该帮助有困难的群体，这是我们中华民族的传统美德，但作为青少年，在帮助他人的同时也要注意保护好自己，选择最合适的方式施救。最后同学们兴致很高都想要把这篇文章演成情景剧，但下课铃已响，让学生带着任务高兴的完成了本节课教学。

“生命课堂”体现我们学校的教学理念，是所有老师值得研究探索的课题，英语首先是一门语言，语言是用来交流的工具，本节课大部分的时间都交给学生让学生独立思考，独立完成练习，让学生自由讨论，表达自己的观点。小组合作环节，让学生组内解决所遇到的问题，发表自己的观点。培养了学生英语思维能力。

反思：本堂课是一堂阅读课，应充分让学生感知，如果能设计更多引起学生深究的问题那小组讨论部分将更加有效。另外，关于“扶不扶”的讨论应该更加深入，引发每位学生的思考，材料可以联系最近发生的事例，更能激发学生的表现力。还应充分思考阅读课的形式，能不能更加多样化，能不能让每位学生都能从小组讨论中解决自己的问题，通过本堂课，学生独学能力是否得到了提高。等等方面都值得深思。
