I. Review

1. Review some pictures of famous people students have learned/known.

1.1 How to do this: Show the pictures of famous people one by one and have students tell their names and jobs respectively.

1.2 This is a way of independent thinking.

II. Before reading

1. Present a picture of Jim Henson first and then play a video about Sesame Street.

2. Students work independently to express their personal ideas: Why did teacher put those two pictures together?

3. Students Discuss with partners about: What questions would you ask if you wanted to know more about Jim Henson?

III. During reading

1. Students read the passage and find the answers independently.

1.1 For those questions whose answers were unable found, encourage students to find after the class.

2. Students skim the passage quickly and complete the timeline.

2.1 How to do this: Students work independently first and then discuss some events they are unable to find by themselevs.

2.2 Ask one student come to the front and write his/her answers.

2.3 Check the answers by themselves.

3. Students work in groups to discuss the ways of completing timeline.

3.1 How to do this: Students first discuss in groups and later share their own ways to the whole class.

3.2 What I am going to say: Just now, some students completed the timeline quickly but some students spent a long time. Are there any ways to complete the timeline quickly?

Feedback课后反思:

这堂课的教学单元为新派英语第六册第一单元Famous People,教学内容为一篇关于Jim Henson的传记,教学目标主要是通过阅读文章,完成后面的时间线。

首先,整个课堂启发思维,传授阅读文章的方法。课堂上可以看到自学—对学—群学的过程,学生先自己思考,然后相互间讨论,最后群体总结,将整个思考的过程都交给了学生。

另外,课堂的开始部分,用视频的方式来引入文章背景相关的知识。而在阅读文章之前,让学生来对文章的主人公提出相关的问题,锻炼学生的思维能力。

但是,英语学习应该更多地注重语言方面的能力,因此文章朗读的时间可能相对来说会比较少。

评章程老师的课

评课人:彭潺

本次课的教学内容为第6册第1单元“Famous People”的第8部分。这是一堂阅读课,章程老师主要通过让学生对名人的复习感知和视频的导入来带学生学习。整个课堂流程清晰,学生也学得比较轻松。这堂课的优点如下:

导入部分:导入部分比较好的激发了学生的学习兴趣,体现了生命课堂的兴趣场。老师利用旧知导入新知,通过对之前所学名人的复习再引出本堂课要学习的名人。并且让学生通过视频的学习来了解他们所学内容的背景知识。

Presentation部分:这一部分很好的体现了学生学习的思维场和学生学习的自主性。老师通过让学生自己对人物提问来进行学习,让学生的学习思维得到了自由发挥。学生的问题出来之后,老师将问题写在黑板上再让学生自己带着问题去阅读文章,再解决问题。而在课本内容中学生解决不了的问题老师也没有急于替学生去回答,而是让学生课后自己去寻找答案,体现了学生的学习自主性。

Practice部分:在这个过程中,老师通过各种不同的学习方式来指导学生完成任务,有学生的独学思考,对学交流和群学讨论。老师还有让学生在完成学习任务之后自己来讨论和总结学习方法,以求通过学习方式的多样性来培养学生的学习思维。

建议:

1. 建议缩短导入部分的时间,或者换一种方式来引入学习。

2. 在活动部分,建议老师在设计的时候可以给与学生一些更有深度的问题去讨论。
