Teaching Plan

Teaching Aim:
1. Get Ss to know about a new career--- clown doctor
2. Get Ss to talk about unfinished situations
3. Train students to do an interview
Teaching Procedures:
Step One Warm Up
Get Ss to discuss the topic:
Do you want to be a doctor? Why or why not?
( Encourage Ss to talk about what they think about the doctor and try to use an adjective to describe the feature of a doctor. Here, promote Ss to talk about the reason what get them think so.)
Step Two Presentation
·Use a picture to get Ss to guess what they are.
·Get Ss to talk about what they want to know about the new career.
(This is a good way to arouse their interest in something new. And at the same time, they stimulate the interest in focusing on what we will learn today.)
·Ask Ss to read a short introdution about clown doctor and ask “Do you think clown doctor are real docotors? Why?”
·Get Ss to make up a question according to the answer from an interview.
Step Three Groupwork
·Get Ss to read through the interview with some missing parts.
·Divide the questions into two parts and hand out the task paper.
·Get Ss to finish the questions on paper.
( First, finish indepently ; Then, exchange answers in groups; Get some students to write down their answers on the Bb)
·Get Ss to discuss the anwers in class and comment on them.
(Here, Ss are required to give the comment and choose the most suitable questions for the interview. While discussing, lead them to think about how to make questions according to the context. Help them sum up some rules.)
·Listen for the right answers.
Step Four Discussion
Get Ss to do an interview in groups to talk about:
Laugh is the best medicine? Do you agree?
Reflection:
In this class, I intend to get my student to learn how to talk about unfinished situations by learning about a new career--- a clown doctor. Through this lesson, they learn how to do a survey about the topic that they’re interested in. At last, the final target of this class is to get Ss to learn to face the live in a positive way. During the class, in order to foster their self-learning ability, I redesign the teaching materials and provide them more chances to think indepedently, exchange ideas and learn to judge or give a comment.
In class, students can be seen to think and talk in a personal way. Especailly, they’re brave to express some of their ideas freely instead of catering for others. It’s good atmosphere for them to study, to speak and to exchange. In the long term, it’s the best way to form their own learning way.
It’s a pity that I am not sophisticated enough in class, especially, when I leaded them to discuss how to make answers according to the context. What’s worse, I failed to get them to figure out the way to do that, when my students felt puzzled. So it seems that I didn’t help my students break through difficulty.
